Going to the hair salon is overall such a relaxing experience, and you always leave with fabulous hair! However, hair salons aren't perfect, and many stylists and receptionists can get really pushy when it comes to making you spend more money than planned. Here are some hair salon rip offs that you need to avoid on your next appointment!

First off, never buy product at the hair salon (unless it's an exclusive product that you actually like). Salons usually hike up the prices of those "specialty" shampoos and conditioners, and stylists usually make commission off of the products, which is why they're so eager to sell them to you.
Going for those extra $10-$20 moisture treatments are extreme wastes of money. You can buy a whole bottle of hair treatment product for the same price at your local drug store or hair supply store instead of shelling out money per treatment!
Another hair salon ripoff is getting your hair straightened, curled or braided. You'll probably pay at least $40 for the session, and you haven't even cut or drastically styled your hair! These styles are easy (and free) to do at home, so pop up a YouTube tutorial and keep practicing to save some mula!
Always check the price of everything when going to the hair salon! If you don't ask, they won't tell until your hair has already been styled and your bill arrives with a much bigger number than you expected. A hair dying session is going to cost a lot more than a regular cut and blow out, so make sure you do your research before heading to the hair salon to keep more money in your wallet!
