Going to happy hour is everyone's favorite part of the week. Its the time to finally sit down and have a nice cold drink and forget about all your work stress. But, don't get too relaxed, because what you're sipping on could make you gain weight!

drinks

Even our drinks aren't safe for weight loss! Many happy hour cocktails are filled with sweeteners, syrups, and soda, all of which add extra sugar to your drink that can lead to weight gain if you drink them frequently (who only stops at one drink at happy hour, right?).

Tons of drinks from behind the bar are just as bad as eating a candy bar because of all of the sugar added to it! Although many drinks have their fair share of sugar and sweeteners, but there's one largely popular happy hour drink that can automatically ruin someone's diet for the day.

margarita

Margaritas are the worst possible drink you could ever order during happy hour. These weight-inducing drinks have about 450 to almost 700 calories in them! Its filled to the brim with sugar, mixer (filled with even more sugar), and have a high sodium content. All of the sugar could not only cause weight gain, but your blood sugar levels to spike, leading to a crash that will leave you feeling sluggish and fatigued.

Instead of margaritas and other sugary drinks, try something more simple that won't put any unnecessary sugar and salt into your body. For example, getting vodka with seltzer water and a lime is a great way to get a bubbly, fruity flavor without all of the calories and sugar a margarita has!
