Sticking to your health and weight loss goals can be difficult when you love tasty food—especially if you’re a fan of fast food, in particular. It’s no secret that eating fast food in excess can do some serious damage to your health and serve as a roadblock in your weight loss goals. But that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a meal from your favorite restaurants from time to time. Taco Bell, in particular, offers some great better-for-you options.

Luckily, there are plenty of TikTok creators that regularly share tips and tricks for ordering fast food while staying on track with your weight loss journey. Below, we’ll round up a few great options from health experts on this helpful. From enchilada burritos to chicken power bowls, there are lots of goodies to choose from!

1. Chicken Enchilada Burrito

First up are the chicken enchilada burritos, recommended by weight loss coach @amber_c_fitness. This option consists of “grilled, marinated, all-white meat chicken, seasoned rice, red sauce, reduced-fat sour cream, and a three-cheese blend wrapped inside a warm flour tortilla.” It contains 380 calories and a whopping 19 grams of protein. Perfect!

2. Doritos Locos Tacos

This choice is Amber’s personal favorite! “The supreme version is 190 calories and eight grams of protein,” Amber reveals. This is perfect for those who like a little bit of crunch when biting into a taco—especially with some extra cheesy flavor. Tacos and Doritos are a match made in heaven.

3. Spicy Potato Soft Taco

We love this long-time fan-favorite item—and thankfully, it's not too bad for our waistlines. The iconic spicy potato taco is 240 calories and five grams of protein. Although a little lower than the other options, it has five grams of protein and 2 grams of fiber.

4. Soft Taco

Love soft tacos from Taco Bell? So do we! If you're looking for the healthiest way to enjoy these, Amber recommends ordering them with chicken, "which will make them a little bit higher in protein." This option goes for 180 calories and nine grams of protein.

5. Cheesy Toasted Breakfast Burrito Bacon

Amber's recommendation is the cheesy toasted breakfast burrito with bacon or sausage. Although it may sound a bit indulgent, it's not a terrible option! "It’s only 250 calories and 13 grams of protein. Pretty decent option even though these are only available for a limited time," she says. Keep your eyes peeled for this one!

6. Bean burrito

Not a fan of meat but want protein? Plant-based protein is aplenty at Taco Bell, thanks to all the beans on the menu. The bean burrito is perfect for you! With beans, cheese, red sauce, and onions, this option has 360 calories, eight grams of fiber, and 13 grams of protein.

7. Power Bowl

Many experts agree that a power bowl is one of the healthiest things you can order from Taco Bell. Maddie Macdonald, RD, who emphasizes the importance of a meal with protein, carbs, and healthy fats, recommends this easy option for weight loss. As she notes, the veggie power bowl is "loaded with long-grain rice, black beans, lettuce, guac, sour cream, cheese, and tomatoes." On its own, this vegetarian meal packs in 12 grams of protein. You can bring things to the next level by adding chicken for an extra 12 grams, resulting in a protein-packed, weight loss friendly meal. Sign us up!

8. Crunchy Taco

Health TikToker Eli Sandoval also recommends the chicken power bowl for those in a calorie deficit—but she adds a crunchy taco to her order, too, which is 140 calories and 11 grams of protein. Not bad! This is just further proof that you don't have to eliminate the foods you love—even fast food like Taco Bell—to reach your weight loss goals.

9. Anything "Fresco Style"

Here's another hot tip Sandoval offers for ordering at Taco Bell: get all of your items "Fresco Style," which replaces the sour cream and cheese with tomato "so it cuts out a bunch of those calories." Plus, it's still delicious. What's not to love?!
