Many of us love to grab our baked foods at Costco, making it a popular section of the store. But just as mom always said: because everyone is doing it, doesn’t mean you should.

“Its best to avoid most baked goods considering their high amount of refined carbohydrates and sugar,” nutritionist Lisa Richards, CNC of The Candida Diet. “The worst possible baked goods at Costco are their muffins,” Lisa warns.

This is because of the rapid sugar spike and crash that occurs from baked goods like these,” she warns. Yikes!

So, what can you swap it out for instead? “If you must purchase baked goods at Costco look for those made with whole grains and fruit or nuts!” Noted!
