There are countless reasons to love Trader Joe’s and we’re ready to give you one more reason to obsess over the grocery chain store.

It’s no secret that Trader Joe’s is your go-to for the best frozen meals and for the amazing deals, of course. While it is a major life saver to all of your cooking woes, Trader Joe’s also serves up some healthy and affordable options.

Many health experts actually recommend Trader Joe’s for its healthy food selection. Just because your favorite store offers frozen and even on-the-go pre-packaged meals, that doesn’t mean that you have to get something convenient at the cost of your health. In fact, you can have the best of both worlds. Easy affordable food options that are also healthy? Sign us up!

In an interview with TODAY, nutritionist for TODAY Joy Bauer revealed her top Trader Joe’s pick. Are you ready to hear what it is? “Cauliflower ‘rice’ is hands down one of my favorite healthy food finds,” Bauer said. “I typically make my own, but it’s great to be able to skip a few cooking steps on hectic weeknights and get dinner on the table faster. Plus, I have one less mess to clean up.”

Cauliflower is actually one of the healthiest cruciferous vegetables you can eat. According to Health, cauliflower is “loaded with nutrients including fiber, vitamins C, K and B6, and potassium.” If that’s not convincing enough, cauliflower also has fewer calories per cup than cooked brown rice. The same Health article further elaborates on this and explains that cauliflower has 25 calories per cup vs. 218 calories for one cup of cooked brown rice.

Luckily, there are a ton of different cauliflower options from Trader Joe’s that you can choose from. This variety of Trader Joe’s cauliflower dishes include Riced Cauliflower Bowl, Cauliflower Tabbouleh, Organic Rainbow Cauliflower, Mashed Cauliflower, Cauliflower Pizza Crust, and Riced Cauliflower Stir Fry. Don’t those all sound so yummy right now? It’s time to hit up Trader Joe’s ASAP!
