Kate Middleton has upgraded her jewelry collection with some extremely sentimental pieces. The Duchess of Cambridge was seen wearing diamond and sapphire drop earrings with a new coordinated pendant during a meeting with the President and First Lady of Ukraine last week.
Middleton's new jewelry looks extremely similar to earrings worn by her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana.
The jewels were part of one of Princess Diana's most notable collections, called the Saudi Sapphire Suite. The diamond and sapphire pieces were given to the princess as a wedding present from the Crown Prince Fahd of Saudi Arabia, and we know she must have loved them because she was seen wearing the jewelry frequently.
It looks like Kate Middleton has had Princess Diana's earrings redesigned, removing the detachable lower sapphires to form the earrings as a drop style, and turning the removed stones into a matching pendant necklace.
Middleton's new jewelry style is extremely sentimental, and a beautiful way to pay homage to Princess Diana's memory.
