Our jaws dropped when we learned this secret about an awful circumstance that happened near the home of Prince William and Kate Middleton in London. It turns out that a woman’s body was discovered in a pond directly outside the royal couple’s home, Kensington Palace.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge must have been devastated on August 29 when the body of an unidentified woman was found directly in front of the palace.
A police spokesperson told Sky News that, "Police were called to Kensington Gardens W2 at 7:09 AM on Saturday, 29 August to a report of the concern for the safety of a woman... The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The death is being treated as unexplained at this time, but is not thought to be suspicious. A post-mortem examination will take place in due course."
Fortunately for William, Kate and their young children, the royal family was not present at the palace at the time of this incident. The couple had taken their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, for a vacation at Balmoral, the Queen's Scottish estate.
Still, this tragic news must have been shocking for Prince William and Kate Middleton to hear, as it happened so close to their family home.
