Yet another line of hand sanitizers has been pulled from shelves for looking like bottled water–yikes!

The FDA just announced that Limar Hand Sanitizer bottles have been recalled after identifying that the germ-fighting product is packaged in a way that “resembles water bottles.”

Amid a deadly wave of coronavirus Delta variant cases, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration revealed that it had to yank the alcohol-based cleansers from stores because the 4 oz. bottles pose “a risk of ingestion.”

The warning notice issued on July 1st reveals that Ardil Comercial, a company based in the Dominican Republic, is voluntarily recalling the containers if confused with drinking water, they could potentially result in alcohol toxicity.

“Symptoms of alcohol toxicity may range from lack of coordination, slowed or slurred speech, drowsiness to coma, which can be fatal,” the statement warns. Yikes!

The agency issued a similar warning back in March after Heal the World hand sanitzer brand was found to resemble 9.6 oz. water bottles.
