High-Protein Meal For Fat Loss: Salmon With String Beans & Rice

Zakiya began by preparing the protein for her meal: salmon. She highlights that salmon is rich in omega-3s and prefers varieties that are non-GMO and free of hormones and antibiotics. For her vegetables, she selected string beans and sautéed them with garlic in a pan. For carbohydrates, she cooked some white rice. Zakiya prepared a homemade teriyaki sauce and drizzled it over her cooked salmon after she had all the food plated.

This recipe is an excellent choice for dinner in several ways. Salmon is a great source of protein, which is essential for muscle repair and growth. It’s also rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which have been shown to reduce inflammation, improve heart health, and may aid in weight loss by promoting fat oxidation.

String beans are low in calories but high in fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Fiber aids in digestion and helps keep you feeling full longer, reducing the likelihood of overeating. Sautéing string beans with garlic in a pan is a healthy way to prepare vegetables, adding flavor without the need for high-calorie sauces or dressings.

Finally, white rice provides a source of carbohydrates for energy. While it is higher in calories compared to vegetables, when consumed in moderation and as part of a balanced meal, it can provide the necessary fuel without contributing to excess calorie intake.

By combining these ingredients, the meal offers a balanced, nutrient-dense option that supports satiety, muscle maintenance, and overall health, all of which are important for effective fat loss.
