Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner aren’t the only A-listers shocking the world with the news of their divorce this month, as Hugh Jackman, 54, and Deborra-Lee Furness, 67, who have been married for 27 years and share two children together – son Oscar, 23, and daughter Ava, 18 – also announced that they are calling it quits!

“We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage,” the couple, who met in 1995 on the Australian TV show Correlli, shared in a joint statement. “Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.”

They added: “Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness. We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives. This is the sole statement either of us will make.”

Covid-19 Reportedly Put A 'Strain' On Their Relationship

Akin to Joe and Sophie's divorce, many sources are speculating about what could have gone wrong in Hugh and Deborra's marriage too. And if we are to believe an insider who reportedly spoke to the Daily Mail, their marriage was reportedly "broken" during the Covid-19 pandemic, when lockdown put a "strain" on their relationship.

"They are forever linked, forever together with the children they have," an insider told the outlet, before going on to claim that their love simply turned into "friendship" during the pandemic, especially over lockdown.

"But after the past few years, the love they had for each other turned more into a friendship which got broken during Covid as the lockdown didn't help their marriage at all and really put a strain on their relationship," the source continued, before going on to say that the writers' strike, which has impacted so many people, was also partly to blame.

"They worked on it and couldn't get it back. The strikes haven't helped one bit, it got them in the same predicament as Covid did, to where they were just kicking the tires, and Hugh found it all to not have the same magic as they once had," the insider added, partly in reference to Jackman's latest project, Deadpool 3, being shut down due to the writers' strike.

It wasn’t just one-sided either, as the insider said, "Deb had similar concerns and thoughts and separating is the best option." There are no hard feelings between the now exes either, as the source said "they will never talk negatively about each other, just time has passed for them and they are now accepting that fate."
