Hugh Jackman's Divorce
When Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness announced their split, everyone was shocked—who divorces after 27 years together? However, some fans who'd been paying close attention speculated their their breakup came a few months after Jackman's affair with Sutton Foster, who he worked with in the Broadway revival of The Music Man.
The pair reportedly starting hooking up in early 2022, and according to an insider who worked on the set of The Music Man, "they didn't even try to hide it," citing instances where Jackman and Foster would stand and hug for a minute, two minutes" in front of the entire cast.
Hugh Jackman 'Blindsides' His Wife With Affair
Unfortunately, Furness was allegedly the last to learn about her husband's affair, and it was a shock. "Deborra-lee was blindsided when she found out about the affair through the run of the show," a Broadway insider told US Weekly. And to make matters worse, Jackman reportedly "didn't own up to [the affair]," making things even worse.
With any divorce, evidence of an affair can affect the outcome of who gets what out of the split. With both parties sharing a whopping $250M between them, things are reportedly starting to get "messy," as there's no prenup. "One of the biggest reasons why they haven’t yet filed is that they never had a prenup," a source told Daily Mail.
"When they got married, they thought it would be forever," the source continued. "Because there was no prenup, and he made a fortune during their marriage, this divorce is not going to be cut and dry. It may even get messy because the stakes are high."
