Hulk Hogan recently revealed that over the course of the past eight months, he has managed to shed a remarkable 40 pounds! This weight loss— the WWE Hall of Famer said in a new interview with TMZ Sports— was due to his decision to cut alcohol out of his life completely.
“It changed everything,” the legendary wrestler, 70, said. “I wasn’t eating late at night—I wasn’t eating junk food anymore. I dropped like 40 pounds right away.”

Hogan explained that he prioritized a healthier lifestyle and diet almost a year ago because he came to a point where he was “sick and tired of being sick and tired of myself.”
With an extensive career spanning over five decades, Hogan (known among WWE fans as The Immortal One and The Hulkster) remained active in the wrestling arena from 1977 to 2012. On Instagram, Hogan often shares videos of himself exercising with his 2 million followers.

When speaking to TMZ, Hogan looked back on the early days of his career and recalled the very beginning of his complex relationship with alcohol. “We’d have beers before the matches. Beers after the matches. And we’d go to the hotel and all meet down at the bar. It was kinda like part of the whole wrestling genre,” he said.
Despite the fact that Hogan had been abstaining from alcohol for eight months, he openly declared that he was not entirely forsaking the drink for good. Instead, he resolved to take a more moderate approach to alcohol consumption, especially considering his age and maturity. “I would never drink daily, you know, like I did when I was wrestling,” he shared.
