As Lizzo proudly reveals her 60-pound weight loss on Instagram and TikTok, she faces claims that she has an “Ozempic face,” with fans attributing her slimmed-down facial features to the drug. The 36-yearold “About Damn Time” singer has firmly denied ever using Ozempic, instead highlighting her high-protein diet and rigorous exercise regimen.

Despite the “Juice” hitmaker’s clarifications, the rumors continue to circulate on social media. In a conversation with The Daily Mail, Dr. Adam Rubinstein, a plastic surgeon based in Miami, observed: “Ozempic face is not really anything unique to Ozempic so much as it is the effect of losing a significant amount of weight.”

Plastic Surgery Experts Weigh In As Lizzo Faces 'Ozempic Face' Rumors On Social Media

In addition, Dr. Smita Ramanadham, a plastic surgeon in New Jersey, also told the outlet: "We see a loss of volume in the face [with weight loss], and when we lose fat in the face we see signs like the cheeks are more sunken in, more sagging skin and a general hollowing out of the features." The publication also reported that "Ozempic face" is "typified by sunken eyes, gaunt cheeks and sagging skin."

In September 2024, the "Truth Hurts" artist addressed remarks suggesting that her significant weight loss was due to using Ozempic. "When you finally get Ozempic allegations after 5 months of weight training and calorie deficit," Lizzo (real name Melissa Vivane Jefferson) wrote. The Grammy winner also posted a screenshot showing a follower's comment on one of her uploads. It read: "Did she use Ozempic or did she snort coke?" Lizzo then asked: "whyyyy do u follow me?"

What Lizzo Has Shared About Her Ozempic-Free Weight Loss Journey

Most recently, Lizzo struck poses in a sultry black bikini in her January 7th IG post, sharing footage of herself using wooden body massagers and oil to reduce cellulite and enhance her skin’s firmness and hydration. She wrote in her caption: “I’m proud of the ways you’re deciding to show up for yourself. I’m proud of the boundaries you’ve set. Amazing things will happen to you today. Now say that 3 times out loud.”

Over the past few months, Lizzo has been sporting a slimmer figure, and recently shared insights into her dietary choices with fans. The “Tempo” artist revealed her typical meal plan on Instagram, noting her transition from being a strict vegan to incorporating “more protein” into her diet.

In an October 10, 2024 message for her fans, Lizzo mentioned that after experimenting with veganism, she adjusted her diet to incorporate animal-based proteins upon exploring a different culture’s practices. “Someone suggested I try a Japanese diet because it’s one of the healthiest diets in the world, and it has some of my favorite foods,” she shared. Lizzo added: “After tests and research, I found that animal proteins helped me have more energy, lose weight, and helped with my mental fog.”

Though the Yitty co-creator’s current diet features animal proteins and products, she expressed her aspiration to modify this in the future. “I aspire to one day be a raw, alkaline vegan,”  she noted. “Until then, this is the diet that’s helped me reach my goals and help me feel good in my body.”

Recognizing that veganism is a delicate topic, with many of her fans adopting the lifestyle for diverse reasons, Lizzo emphasized her non-judgmental approach to others’ health and nutrition choices. “I’m not gonna judge you,” she said. “Do what’s best for you in your life at that moment. All that matters is that you’re happy. And if you’re happy, I’m happy. In the video, she took viewers through her daily meals, starting with a breakfast of lemon water, egg white cups, cauliflower hashbrowns, and fruit.

To hydrate herself, Lizzo sips on okra water. Her lunch features a buffalo chicken lettuce wrap with mustard and homemade peach tea. Dinner is a serving of grilled chicken accompanied by asparagus and carrots. Earlier last fall, Lizzo made another insightful TikTok post while reflecting on her health journey and told fans: “Changing your body does not always change your problems or solve them.”
