Donald Trump is now three weeks into his hush money trial, where he’s facing accusations of falsifying business records in order to cover up the $130K  he paid adult film star Stormy Daniels to keep quiet after their alleged affair. The latest from the courtroom? A series of profane text messages between lawyer Keith Davidson and Donald Trump’s lawyer, Michael Cohen, have become evidence in the trial, and they’re now being read aloud in court. Of course, the internet is having a field day with this. Keep reading for more details.

Donald Trump vs. Stormy Daniels Hush Money Trial

Back in 2018, Stormy Daniels publicly claimed that Donald Trump's former attorney, Michael Cohen, had paid her $130,000 to keep quiet about their alleged affair. Though Donald Trump did attempt to delay the onset of the trial, with his lawyers citing "an impartial jury cannot be selected right now based on prejudicial pretrial publicity." However, Justice Lizbeth González rejected the request without any explanation.

The incident, according to Stormy Daniels, occurred during Melania's pregnancy with her and the former president's son, Barron, in 2006, a decade before Trump's presidency. She says they met in Lake Tahoe at a celebrity golf tournament, and he invited her to his hotel suite for dinner, where he showed her a copy of a golf magazine with his face on the cover.

Stormy then recalls saying, "Someone should take that magazine and spank you with it." Allegedly, the former president then "turned around and pulled his pants down a little," which is when Stormy "gave him a couple of swats." Later that evening, Stormy says they had consensual sex.

Donald Trump has denied any relationship with the adult film star, but on Oct. 28th, 2016, Stormy signed an NDA in which she pledged not to publicly discuss any aspect of their relationship in exchange for $130,000.

In 2023, Trump was charged with falsifying business records to cover up the payment, and claims that the $130K was to stop her "false and extortionist accusations." However, despite his apparent confidence that he's done nothing wrong, his lawyer thinks otherwise, calling this court case "the fight of our lives" during an interview with Greg Kelly on Greg Kelly Reports.

Profanity Laden Texts Are Shown In Court

Trump's dream of getting off scot-free continues to seem more and more far fetched, especially as the court gets into the nitty gritty details of the communication that led to the $130K payment. But first, some background info:

In 2006, Donald Trump was recorded on camera saying that he could grab women's genitals without their consent because he was famous. In October 2016, this tape resurfaced publicly, and as Donald Trump was running for president at the time, it was not a good look. With this already happening, the last thing he needed was Stormy Daniels coming forward about their sexual encounter. As Keith Davidson said in a text message to National Enquirer editor Dylan Howard, Ms. Daniels "talking...is the final nail in the coffin...but he really is f***ed already."

Howard responded, writing, "Trump is f***ed. Wave the white flag. It's over people!"

Then, Davidson started working with Stormy Daniels as a sort of negotiator. He was connected to Michael Cohen, Trump's lawyer, and according to an email from Davidson to Cohen dated October 11, 2016, it was confirmed that the "settlement sum is $130,000." Legal documents were attached to the email, and by late October, Cohen had wired the cash.

Of course, as new developments continue to unfold, users across social media platforms continue to poke fun at the whole situation. "Obsessed with this being the first criminal trial of a president ever," one person wrote. "Can't believe I get to be alive at this time in history."

"Trump is the most delusional of us all," another wrote. "While his lawyers are trying to wriggle their way out of this Trump is sitting there falling asleep genuinely believing he's done nothing wrong. He has no concept of the law whatsoever."
