Internet Reactions
The internet understandably had many thoughts about the video on several social media platforms.
"The way she moved Salma's arm," wrote one fan on one of many TikTok videos from the show. "I noticed that too and that was not nice," replied a second fan, as a third said: "Yeap me 3 I've seen that real quick maybe she thinks she's better than Salma."
"Something is going on here," observed one fan, as another asked: "What is going on here?" "Something happened but I don't know whose side to be on," wrote another conflicted fan, as one replied, "Salma… instantly Salma's." Another concurred, writing: "Salma without a doubt." Yet another fan said: "Salma was trying to point Nicole to the cameras. Nicole looks upset with her. Salma being a class act let it go."
"Exactly how I've always thought Nicole was," wrote another fan, this time on X. "Kidman poor sport," someone else said, as another fan joked: "Salma Hayek FOREVER! You can touch me," followed by a kissing, crying laughing, and red heart emoji. "Tom was right about her," commented another X user, in reference to Kidman's ex-husband, Tom Cruise.
"Nicole Kidman's a capital b and I used to like her not anymore and that was not misconstrued she was being a snob," wrote another user, as a few others thought it was Hayek who was in the wrong. "How dare she manhandle Nicole," said one user, as another wrote: "Salma was extremely rude. She must be a diva."
Another X user thought they had the answers, writing: "Nicole Kidman walked in between Salma Hayek and a photographer who was shooting Hayek. Kidman expected that by walking right through the middle, the photographer would be more interested in her. When it failed, she had a 'don't touch me' hissy fit."
A Source Close To Nicole Kidman And Salma Hayek Says The Internet Has Blown Everything Out Of Proportion
However, like many things, the interaction may not have been entirely as it appeared. After the clip went viral, a source close to the women said that everything was being blown out of proportion, and insisted that the internet misinterpreted their exchange.
"This whole situation is silly. Salma and Nicole love and respect each other," the source told People, adding that "nothing happened" between the two actresses.
"They were being bombarded by cameras at the end of the show while in the middle of a conversation," the source continued, adding: "People are looking at clips and making a story out of nothing."
