Kate Middleton has been through a lot this last year, as she recently announced she was battling cancer and just a few months ago, revealed she was in remission. While many people worldwide have supported the Princess, others weren’t too pleased to see that she had recently gone on a ski trip.
Almost two weeks ago, Kate, Prince William, and their children were photographed enjoying a fun, ski-filled vacation in the French Alps. Although seeing members of the royal family get to relax and enjoy themselves is usually a treat for their fans, others weren’t too pleased to see the photographs, as they would rather witness Kate returning to her royal duties following her cancer remission news. Kate, William, And Their Kids Hit The Ski Slopes In The French Alps
On April 3rd, the Prince and Princess of Wales were photographed participating in a private ski session in the French Alps with their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
Photographers captured pictures of the family going up and down ski slopes and riding a ski lift. It wasn't their first family ski vacation of the year, as they reportedly took one in January, although there weren't many pictures of them then.
Kate was captured wearing a big smile as she watched her kids ski while donning a chic white coat and black striped ski pants. Their family was also spotted enjoying snacks and drinks at a restaurant on a mountaintop.
The rest of the family wore colorful coats and seemingly had a super fun day away from their royal duties in England. However, some royal fans believe that Kate should've made more of an effort to get back into her routine appearances before going on a vacation.
Internet Users Slam Kate For Going On Vacation After Announcing She's In Remission
The vacation for the royal family came almost three months after the Princess of Wales announced that she was in remission from her cancer. Although the kind of cancer she had has not been disclosed, she released a statement for social media, noting that it is a "relief" to be in remission and that she would "remain focused" on her recovery.
"As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal," wrote Kate. "I am, however, looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead."
Although Kate's statement alluded to her not being present for certain royal events and visits for a while, royal family fans and other internet users thought it was not very pleasant to see that she was healthy enough for a ski trip, but not for other royal duties.
When photos of the family's ski vacation were released on social media platforms like X, users shared messages of disappointment in the Princess.
"So, Kate is well enough to go skiing, but she can't do royal duties," wrote an X user.
"Her last engagement was a month ago!"
The X user was referring to Kate's most recent public appearances for the Commonwealth Day Service and Saint Patrick's Day, both in mid-March.
"How many holidays have they already been on?" asked an X user.
"They barely even work the equivalent of part-time work."
Another internet user called the ski vacation a "ludicrous situation," while another wrote that their decision to take a trip "speaks volumes." More angry people on the internet accused the Princess of being "lazy."
Many royal fans still defended Kate and William, stating that they had every right to take a trip with their family amid her recent health crisis, and that they should be able to do what they want.
