You’re busy, you need your iPhone, but your device is desperate for a charge. While it can seem like some adapters take forever to charge your device, this doesn’t have to be your fate.

Apple and Tech Expert Aqsa Tabassam, Editor-in-chief of InsideTechWorld, spoke to SHEFinds.com about the one adapter he relies on time and again to quickly (and safely) charge an iPhone so that you can get back to the business of living your life.

You can find a number of adapters that are affordable and do an adequate job of charging your device. But if you are looking for speed, Tabassam recommends turning to the same company that gave you the iPhone.

“The best iPhone adapter so far is the 20W USB-C power adapter made by Apple,” Tabassam says. “There are a lot of other charging adapters that are compatible with Apple products but the one that suits Apple products the best, particularly iPhone, is the new 20W USB-C charging adapter.”

Just what it is that makes the 20W USB-C charging adapter stand out from the crowd? Tabassam says it has many distinctive features.

“One of those reasons is that it offers ultrafast charging and helps the battery last for a longer period,” Tabassam says. “Another reason is that it offers the best and most durable compatibility with Apple devices, particularly iPad Pro, iPad Air, iPhone 8 and later models. This adapter, despite offering optimum charging, durability, and the best compatibility, isn’t much expensive, which is another plus point to buy this adapter.”

While you can’t, literally, fully charge an iPhone in just a few short minutes, Tabassam says the 20W USB-C power adapter is probably the fastest iPhone charger so far. “It takes more or less 30 minutes to charge the iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 up to 50% because they have the same battery, and it takes a little more than 2 hours to charge these phones to 100%,” Tabassam says. “Considering the battery sizes of the previous iPhone models, 20W USB-C power adapters will take even less time to charge because the sizes of their batteries are smaller than the iPhone 11 and iPhone 12. iPhone 11 came packed with a 18W USB-C adapters, but for iPhone 12 you have to buy an adapter separately.”

If the 20W USB-C adapter is not up your alley, Tabassam says there are tips and tricks to keep in mind when shopping for a quality iPhone adapter.

“If it takes less time to charge, it is a sign that the adapter has a good quality,” Tabassam says. “After your phone is charged, observe if your phone battery goes down quickly or the phone can retain the battery. If the battery goes down quickly, your charging adapter is not made of quality material. If you want to find adapters other than Apple-certified ones, then Anker, Aukey, and Belkin are some of the renowned brands that make quality products and accessories for different mobile phone companies, including Apple.”

When in doubt, Tabassam says checking Apple's recommended third-party adapters at their official store is a good idea to get a well compatible adapter for your fancy device.
