A lagging iPhone is annoying — plain and simple. When your phone is as slow as honey you’re trying to get out of a jar, it can affect everything you do on your device, from downloading apps to sending text messages to friends. The solution isn’t to spend money on a new phone, it’s to become more aware of certain settings that could be contributing to lag.
@kaansanity This is really cool! Sounds just like me! 😳
One tech expert has a fast and easy solution to a slow phone: he says you can “speed it up in no time” by following this short, but effective grocery list of two settings you can turn off or adjust for an immediate improvement in your phone’s speed.
1. Clear Safari Cache
If you’ve been using Safari for years without clearing its cache, all of the images, scripts, and other data that is being stored locally can result in browser errors, less available storage, and an overall slower device. The first recommendation is to head over to Safari and clear your cache in order to remove locally stored data and speed up your page load time. To do this, go to Settings > Safari > Privacy & Security > Clear History and Data.
2. Disable Background App Refresh
Background App Refresh is a convenient setting that allows apps to update their content in the background, and this means having to wait less time to find out what the weather is going to be like today or what’s going on in the news. But because this setting is asking your phone and battery to work overtime even when you aren’t actively using an app, it’s extremely draining on your battery. Go to Settings > General > Background App Refresh and disable this setting. You may have to wait a few additional seconds longer than usual for apps to load content, but the battery you’ll save can make your phone run faster.
