Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, were just called out on X, formerly Twitter, by Donald Trump’s niece, Mary Trump, for their “tone deaf” comments about success. Jared Kushner was a guest on Lex Fridman’s podcast back in October 2023, and after Ivanka posted a clip of it with the caption, “I’ve received a remarkable number of gracious compliments on @jaredkushner’s recent in-depth discussion with @lexfridman,” Mary Trump—and many of her supporters—spoke out. Ivanka Trump Shares A Video Of Her Husband On Twitter

Ivanka Trump posted a clip of her husband speaking in an interview with Lex Fridman, who has a podcast called the Lex Fridman Podcast, where he interviews guests about all things relating to science, technology, sports, and/or politics. In the video, Kushner talks about determination in achieving goals: “If you want to accomplish something, you just have to go at it,” Jared says at the end of the clip.

While he does acknowledge that he was born into a lot of wealth and opportunity—”I say this as somebody who’s been so blessed with so many things in life”—he also implies that some people just aren’t trying hard enough to be successful.

“A lot of people I hear they complain about what other people do or why it’s hard or why it’s impossible… When I’ve had challenges or things I’ve wanted to achieve, I just focus and say, ‘What can I do?'”

Ivanka shared a message along with the clip, writing, “I personally love this clip as it reveals the determined optimist who firmly believes that there’s always a solution if you’re willing to try enough paths. I love this about Jared… and it’s a good reminder as we start the new year!”

But not everyone got the same message out of that clip.

Donald Trump's Niece Slams Ivanka & Jared

Donald Trump's estranged niece, Mary Trump, responded to the tweet with a sarcastic comment: "There’s nothing like 2 billion dollars in Saudi blood money to keep you optimistic," she wrote on X. She is likely referring to the roughly $2B in funding Kushner received from the Saudi Arabian government six months after leaving the White House.

Many fans have teamed up with her to slam both Ivanka and Jared for their "tone-deaf" comments, as one user on X put it.

"Hmmmm….very interesting," one user wrote. "Especially when you consider that Jared Kushner has accomplished nothing. But good to know he’s trying a number of different ways to do so."

"I'd like to think I'd have a better moral compass, but there is a chance the Saudis could turn me into a determined optimist for $2B," another user posted.

"Two nepo babies born with 24-carat gold spoons in their mouths, who went into their daddy's businesses instead of getting real jobs, and who are now funded by $2 billion in Saudi money, want to tell you about how to be successful," another person said.
