Donald Trump was convicted of 34 felonies on May 30th, 2024, after it was proven that he falsified business records to cover up the $130K in hush money he paid adult film star Stormy Daniels to cover up their affair. Trump was on trial for a few weeks, and during none of his court appearances were any of his female family members present.

Ivanka Trump just gave some insight into why that was the case, opening up on Lex Fridman’s podcast last week that the entire experience was “painful.” Keep reading to learn more about Ivanka’s thoughts on her father’s conviction on SheFinds.com

Donald Trump: Convicted Felon

Donald Trump has become the first president in American history to become a convicted felon, and he set the bar pretty high, coming in at 34 felony charges. He was charged with falsifying business records back in 2016, just a month before the presidential election that he won against Hilary Clinton.

He was attempting to cover up the 130,000 he paid Stormy Daniels in hush money. He was worried that she would share the details of their 2006 affair and tank his approval ratings. He most likely didn't anticipate it coming out 8 years later in the courtroom, just months ahead of the next presidential election.

Ivanka Trump Breaks Her Silence On Her Father's Felony Conviction

Until last week, Ivanka has remained silent on the topic of her father's conviction, keeping in line with her intention to not be involved in the Trump politics this time around. But on July 2nd, she appeared on the Lex Fridman Podcast, where host Lex Fridman decided to broach the topic, asking what her thoughts are on the topic.

"On a human level, it’s my father, and I love him very much," she said. "So, it’s painful to experience. But ultimately, I wish it didn’t have to be this way." Melania Trump similarly was nowhere to be found during the lawsuit, understandably so, as she and Trump were indeed married at the time of the affair. She has yet to comment on the conviction, though we can assume her thoughts are somewhere along the lines of, "Karma's a b*tch!"
