For almost two years now, Ivanka Trump has distanced herself from Washington politics and her father Donald Trump‘s controversial political brand.
Despite skipping the former president’s 2024 campaign announcement and vowing to never return as his senior advisor, the former first daughter, 42, may be considering a return to the political arena as her father’s influence grows and the nation approaches the next election in November.
Ivanka Trump Might Be Considering A Return To Politics As Donald Trump's Influence Grows
This speculation, first reported by Puck, has been fueled by the opinions of friends and acquaintances close to the Trump family.
Business Insider also reported that the former White House advisor might be thinking about a "political comeback."
In a recent interview with the outlet, R. Couri Hay, society publicist and acquaintance of the Trumps, said: "It's becoming more of a reality that President Trump could be president again."
Melania Trump Is Also Reportedly Preparing To Revisit Her First Lady Role
Hay observed that Melania Trump, similar to her stepdaughter Ivanka, had distanced herself from politics. However, the former first lady, 54, is now frequently spotted by the side of the ex-president, 77, at events, beaming and welcoming visitors. "She is gracious, mingling," the longtime Trump insider said.
"My understanding is that privately she's saying she's ready to be first lady again if called," Hay dished. The publicist went on: "Then why are we so shocked and surprised that Ivanka could, too, feel the call of the siren? Despite the rocks on the shore, the call is very strong.
Hay also told Business Insider that there was a time when Ivanka was proud of her work at the White House while supporting her father. "I remember talking to Ivanka — there was a period where she was extremely happy with the work she was doing, she felt it was important, she was engaged and involved," Hay said, regarding her political endeavors. "She liked it. But the sword always has two edges, and she felt the other side of the sword, and that's when she had enough," Hay added.
Alongside a fervent examination of her personal business transactions, Ivanka also found herself caught up in the civil fraud case against the Trump Organization.
This resulted in her having to testify in the case, though the allegations against her were eventually dropped. Notably, the intense public scrutiny and ethics investigations persisted throughout this time.
"But now, from a distance, the tide is potentially turning, according to polls," Hay added. The publicist continued: "The idea of assuming some sort of role is something I can imagine Ivanka might be thinking about."
