The country superstar has balanced his growing fame and lifestyle habits exceptionally well, as he’s been open about losing over 120 pounds since committing to a mission of taking better care of himself around 2023. Since then, he’s been updating the world on how his progress is going and what choices he’s making every day to keep up the good work, including his latest Instagram video where his chef gives a rundown of the healthy meals he’s eating on tour. Jelly Roll’s Chef Makes Him A ‘Waffle House’ Inspired Breakfast Bowl

Jelly Roll, whose birth name is Jason Bradley DeFord, has been very transparent about losing weight in a way that’s as natural as possible, including healthy meals and working out more. He’s previously stated that he was not interested in taking weight loss drugs, specifically Ozempic, because he was “petrified” of its lasting side effects.

To keep track of his nutrition, he’s been using the help of personal chefs like Ian Larios to cook him healthy and filling meals while he’s out and about playing shows. On March 31st, Jason and Ian released a video giving fans insight into what he eats every day.

On tour, the “Son of a Sinner” singer eats only “two meals a day and one snack,” one of them being a healthy rendition of a “Waffle House bowl,” which is a favorite fast food meal of his.

The bowl contains homemade hashbrowns and lots of filling veggies and is prepared with extra nutritious ingredients like oil from beef tallow and bone broth. Once the homemade hashbrowns are air fried, they’re topped with chicken sausage, vegetables, and sauerkraut for extra benefits. The vocalist noted the recipe “tastes good” and is “good for his tummy”

“It’s got carbs, it’s got protein, and it’s packed with probiotics,” says the athletic chef.

Jelly Roll Finishes His Daily Meals With A Hearty Serving Of 'Protein Poutine'

Poutine is a beloved Canadian dish consisting of french fries, cheese curds, and gravy, which isn't necessarily weight-loss friendly. So, Chef Ian created a healthier version for the Nashville-born artist that's packed with protein.

After eating his snack, consisting of a "peanut butter cookie bite," Jason enjoys his "protein poutine," which consists of homemade french fries, dairy-free cashew "cheese curds," chicken thighs, and a gravy made out of blended vegetables and chicken sausage.

In the Instagram reel, Jelly Roll can be seen enjoying his final meal of the day, calling the alternative cheese curds "fire." Fans of the singer cheered him on in the comments, writing that he's "eating good and looking good." Another fan wrote, "Educated chefs can save lives, man."
