Jelly Roll Gives A Major Update On His Weight Loss Journey During Live Event
Jelly Roll, whose full name is Jason Bradley DeFord, has been on fire during his mission to lose weight, which he said he started publicly talking about in 2022. He's been very transparent about the various ways he's been working to get in shape and documenting his progress for fans.
The Tennessee native has admitted to changing his mental and physical life, addressing his relationship with food and eating more nutritious meals on top of exercising regularly. While there has been speculation about his drastic weight loss and the use of popular drugs like Ozempic, he's denied any claims of his using it, mentioning that he was "petrified" of its side effects.
In addition to opening up about his journey during various interviews, the singer has also posted videos of what his team of professional chefs makes for him on the road, encouraged his fans to join run club challenges, and more.
One of the last updates on just how many pounds the "Son Of A Sinner" singer has lost was around 130 lbs. But, on Wednesday, April 9th, he stepped on stage for sport analyst and podcaster Pat McAfee's "Big Night Aht" event in Pittsburgh, and shared just how far he's come.
In a clip from the event shared on X, Pat told Jason he looked like he had lost a "person," as he had shed so many pounds. When the podcaster asked for an update on where the rapper started and where he is now, he responded, "I started at 540 pounds; I'm 357 pounds this morning, baby."
Jelly Roll Shares His Plans For What He Wants To Do When He Loses '100 More' Lbs
Once the 40-year-old announced that he had lost nearly 200 lbs, the crowd at the PPG Paints Arena burst into applause, cheering on the massive accomplishment. That's when he got back on the mic and excitedly shared a specific goal he has for when he loses even more weight.
"I'm gonna lose another 100 pounds and go skydiving with my wife in Sweden, baby!" shouted the singer, who was given another round of applause.
Pat then told him that he was "one of the good ones," and that he and his fans are "all proud" of what he's done for his health.
The sweet statement made by the CMA winner was enjoyed by fans who follow both him and his wife, Alyssa DeFord, also known as Bunnie XO, who hosts her own popular podcast, Dumb Blonde Podcast. We'll be interested to see how long it takes Jelly Roll to reach his next goal, and we'll be looking out for those skydiving photos.
