Over the past few years, singer and rapper Jelly Roll has been hard at work not only creating music, but losing weight. He recently went on his wife’s podcast and revealed to his fans that while he supports other people using Ozempic, he has a fear of using it, and lost 140 pounds naturally. Keep reading to find out how he did it and why he refused Ozempic.

Jelly Roll Loses 140 Pounds

Jelly Roll's wife, Bunnie XO, invited him onto her podcast, Dumb Blonde, to speak on his weight loss journey. Though he admitted that "every doctor" he talked to encouraged him to try Ozempic, he insisted on losing the weight naturally. Over the past two years, he's lost 140 pounds, and plans to keep losing weight.

"I wanna have one of the biggest transformations," he explained. "I did this publicly for a reason. I wanna be honest about my struggles with it with people. I wore it for so long. I think that people that become as big as I became, when they lose weight, they're kind of ashamed. They're so ashamed that they go and hide and lose the weight, and then they come back out and they don't really know how to interact with the world looking different and feeling different."

He also shared that he hopes to lose another 100 pounds in 2025. "I wanted to lose it in front of everybody," he said. "I wanna bring people along with me."

Jelly Roll Reveals He's 'Petrified' Of Ozempic

So why not take the doctor-recommended and seemingly easy way out? Jelly Roll explained that he was afraid of it. "We're not against Ozempic or any of that stuff," he said on the podcast. "Every doctor I've talked to is for it. They said it helps. I was just afraid of it." And the reason why? One of the side effects of taking Ozempic is acid reflux.

"As a singer, few things scare me more than acid reflux. Like, you'll watch me get up out of a bed," he said to his wife, "I'll burp and wake up panicked and go take something for it. You know? Because that stuff will just rip the vocal cords."

"I just could not afford any acid reflux," he continued. "So I want to be very clear that I've done it naturally, but it wasn't out of stubbornness or trying to prove a point. If it helps you, go get it. But for me, I was just petrified of the side effects."
