Internet sleuths are in an uproar as it seems that Kylie Jenner and Kendall Jenner skipped their grandmother’s funeral—and for Kylie’s part, it appears the skip may have been in service of attending Beyoncé‘s “Renaissance” concert tour instead.
The sisters did not appear at the funeral, which honored Caitlyn Jenner’s mother Esther, who passed away at age 96 on April 20th. And though Caitlyn paid tribute to Esther on social media, it was noted by fans that neither Kylie nor Kendall posted about the loss or seemed to acknowledge it publicly at all.

Kylie Spotted At Beyoncé Concert Instead Of Grandmother's Funeral
Kylie Jenner was especially blasted on internet forums devoted to the Kardashian-Jenner clan for being overseas for Beyoncé's "Renaissance" concert tour instead of attending the California-based funeral in person. "Not a word, picture, post nothing about losing their grandmother… Shame on Kylie and Kendall.. showing fingernails instead. Stay classy girls," chastised one Reddit user.
"I don't think any of the Kardashian girls have a shred of empathy between them," wrote another, seemingly lumping the Jenner sisters in with the rest of the Kardashian family.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians alum certainly made a splash at the show, which took place in Paris (and not London, as Redditors thought.) Kylie showed up to the concert decked out in all leather complete with over-the-knee vinyl boots and a slinky, sheer Courreges Fall 2023 beige dress. The Kylie Cosmetics boss partied the night away at the event, among other celebrities like mother Kris Jenner, Selena Gomez, Megan Thee Stallion, and Natalie Portman.
Kendall was also spotted elsewhere while her grandmother's funeral was being held—the model was seen on vacation in the south of France at the same time.

Fans Slam Jenner Sisters: 'They're Pathetic!'; 'So Detached'
Kendall and Kylie so publicly choosing to forego their grandmother's memorial service did not go over well with many fans, with some calling them "pathetic" and saying "They're so detached from their Jenner side that I didn't even realize that it's THEIR grandma that passed away."
Indeed, many Redditors pointed out that Esther Jenner was a notorious critic of the Keeping Up with the Kardashians franchise, at times calling the reality show "plotless" and saying "Why it was such a hit, I'll never know." One user noted, "Caitlyn’s mother didn’t like kris so it could have put a strain on the relationship with the grandchildren."
Other Redditors agreed that the family situation was likely more nuanced than the public was aware of: "Family isnt always family, i have a grandfather that lives 10 min away from me that I wouldnt even recognize if he knocked on my front door. Sometimes its just like that," shared one commenter. Another added, "pretty much shows how distant they are to Cait and the Jenner side of their family, but i don’t blame them for that."
Kendall and Kylie have not yet addressed Esther's passing, the choice not to attend the memorial service, nor the criticism from fans for their decision.
