Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck were captured by paparazzi last week as they stood outside a Halloween event held at their children’s school in Santa Monica, California. While engaging in conversation by Affleck’s black Mercedes, the duo seemed to display tension in their body language.
Although the exact details of their discussion are unknown, the 13 Going On 30 actress, 51, appeared visibly unhappy with a frown on her face, and the conversation appeared intense. As reported by the Daily Mail, the Justice League actor, also 51, was later caught on camera backing his car into another vehicle after his exchange with his ex-wife.

It was evident from Affleck's expression after the fender bender that he was irked by the collision. The former couple and co-stars share three children; daughter Violet, 17, daughter Seraphina, 14, and son Samuel, 11. Garner and Affleck tied the knot in 2005 and split in 2015. They officially divorced three years later. Both famously moved on, as Affleck is currently married to Jennifer Lopez and Garner is dating John Miller, the chairman and CEO of Cali Group.
While having their paparazzi-snapped chat, the exes donned fall-ready outfits. Garner sported a sleek get-up featuring a black puffer coat, camo leggings and gray sneakers. She topped it all off with black shades and wore her collarbone-length brunette tresses down, parted in the center and styled straight.
Affleck went for a beige jacket over a cream sweater and completed his look with dark gray trousers and red Nike sneakers. The duo's convo might have looked uncomfortable at one point, but Affleck was later seen affectionately touching Garner's shoulder as they sipped on their coffees. She was also photographed smiling in his presence.
Despite the car mishap and convo, a source reportedly told the Daily Mail that there is no bad blood between Affleck and Garner years after their split. The "drama of the past" and "emotions" from their divorce are now "long gone," the insider dished to the outlet.
The source also reportedly noted that Garner and Lopez (who shares 15-year-old twins Emme and Max with ex Marc Anthony) also get along. "It is really a very happy co-parenting situation," they said. "Everything is really good right now and should be the same in the near and distant future."
