Jennifer Garner is opening about parenthood amid the pandemic, and it’s definitely been a struggle for moms across the board, A-listers included. During an interview with ET, Garner explained that it had been a “hard year for moms,” especially having to watch their kids “miss out on things” while staying safe during coronavirus.

Keep reading for more details.

Garner's new movie Yes Day flips the script of parents constantly having to say "no" to their kids, giving the children a 24-hour period of making their own rules.

Explaining the inspiration behind the film, Garner said, "This has been such a hard year for moms. We have had to say 'No, no, no.'"

Likewise, according to Garner, seeing their kids "isolated" and "on Zoom every day" has been incredibly difficult for parents.

"We've had to watch our kids be home, miss out on things," she continued. "It is one thing to miss out on something as an adult, but to watch your kids miss something they have looked forward to or just how hard it has been to see them isolated and on Zoom every day."

Luckily, Yes Day is a "breath of fresh air" for parents.

The actress gushed about her new film. "This is a wish-fulfillment day of yes, and it is just so fun to watch moms watch the movie," she said.

This optimistic new film is different from Garner's regular life, and she jokes that in reality she is not a "cool" mom.

"It is not a positive to be me," she said. "Someone who people would think, ‘Oh, how cool to have that person as a mom.’ No."

Despite her so-called uncool status, Garner cannot say enough good things about her "lovely" children. "But my teenager and my adolescent are both lovely," she explained. "So, I have to say, I have it pretty easy as far as that goes."
