Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have decided to postpone their wedding indefinitely. The couple planned to get married in Italy late this summer, but their plans have changed due to COVID-19. With travel and large gatherings still restricted, the couple has decided to hold off on their wedding until the time is right.
A source told E! News about the decision, "They have been struggling for weeks over this decision, but with no return to normalcy in the near future, the couple felt postponing the wedding was the safest and smartest choice."
Apparently, the couple has recently informed their guests of this decision.
The source continued,"Guests have recently been notified that the wedding will not be happening in late summer as anticipated."
The actress has previously opened up about her thoughts on the timing of the wedding. During Oprah's 2020 Vision: Your Life in Focus Tour in Los Angeles, Lopez talked about her relationship to A-Rod and how they both felt about their wedding date.
She explained, "He's like, 'Whatever you want to do, we can talk about it. I said, 'But if we're going to be together for the rest of our lives, what is the rush.' If that's what we're really going to do, if we're really going to be partners."
A-Rod has also mentioned their shifting wedding plans. He spoke to Jimmy Fallon about his daughter's 12th birthday party giving him some wedding inspiration.
He joked, "What was great is we had a drive-through party. And then some people said maybe we have a drive-through wedding. It will be cheaper!"
