Jennifer Lopez has received criticism for quite a few different things in her life, including the fact that she launched an alcohol brand despite admitting that she herself doesn’t drink. (Not to mention the fact that her husband, Ben Affleck, is a recovering alcoholic.)
The 54-year-old “Pa Ti” singer has also frequently come under fire for the things she says about her appearance, including crediting her ageless appearance to olive oil and her JLo Beauty products, and no other fancy cosmetic treatments or surgeries. And it’s her seeming dishonesty that has caused outrage from fans once again!

Jennifer Lopez Comes Under Fire For ‘Bare Face’ Instagram Post
On August 14th, the Shotgun Wedding actress shared a video with her 250M Instagram followers, which showed her prepping her skin using products from her JLo Beauty range. She didn’t appear to be wearing any makeup in the video, and as per her caption, she also didn’t seem to be using an Instagram filter either. She also says in the video that she is “bare-faced” and wearing “no makeup,” adding that the video has “no filters” and “no retouching.” She also reveals that she has worn sunscreen since her early twenties, which could be her way of telling fans that her youthful appearance could partly be down to her religious SPF application.
It goes without saying, but the Marry Me actress looked remarkable in the video – but her appearance did raise a lot of questions from fans, who thought she wasn’t telling the whole truth about being makeup-free or filter-free. Other fans also took to the comments section to question her skincare routine, suggesting that she is doing a whole lot more than simply using products from her own range and the infamous olive oil.

One fan wrote: "54 with cosmetic surgery, Botox, fillers and filters. Just stop. So dishonest. You’ll stick to the lie because you believe it yourself but we don’t. Ridiculous Nonsense." Another fan directly replied, writing, "You’re absolutely correct! She's ridiculous!" followed by the hand clapping emoji. "You are great, but stop with this rubbish. Show yourself naturally, without filters," urged one fan, adding, "At 54 you are still young but your skin wouldn't look that young without any help. Stop misleading." Another agreed, writing, "She looks fantastic. Younger than 54 but there is definitely a filter on that video. Or special lighting. I’ve seen other pictures of her and it looks different than this video. Not saying she doesn’t look fabulous but this is a bit misleading."

I’m sure you have a filter," wrote another, as someone else quipped, "Promote your plastic surgeons instead." Another self-confessed "huge fan" said, "I am really disappointed that you are not honest about your skin routine, there is absolutely no way you don't have things done, lasers, peels, Botox, filler. To think at 54 you are suggesting that this skincare keeps your skin so fabulous is so dishonest of you. You should either say nothing at all about your skin routine or just be honest to what you do with your face. Losing respect for you." Yikes!
Positive Fan Comments
Interestingly, the "On My Way" singer's forehead wrinkles were visible in the video, so does this mean that she really *doesn’t* use Botox? "If she had Botox her forehead wouldn't wrinkle like it did when she expressed during this video," one fan noted. "Her whole forehead moved, no Botox," concurred another, as someone else said: "She doesn’t have Botox on her forehead because when I have Botox done, I do not get those wrinkles matter-of-fact. I can’t even move my forehead and she even has those 11s when she was making the concerned face." They went on to say, "Fillers also make you look like a chipmunk, and she doesn’t look like that at all. I know tons of women in their 40s that look amazing and don’t have any filler or Botox. Some people are just blessed with good genetics."
The Coach ambassador got many more glowing comments on her post. "You are 54 years old and you are so natural and beautiful. Girl, it's natural for people to envy you and hate you," wrote one fan, while another added, "Loool so many jealous women in this comment section just accept she looks great and move on."
