2024 was a big year for Jennifer Lopez—at least, relationship-wise. After a whirlwind of divorce rumors spanning most of the year, the 55-year-old filed for divorce from Ben Affleck in August, and hasn’t been healing in private. Rather, she’s showing the world that she’s doing better than ever and isn’t backing out of the spotlight. Keep reading for more information.

Jennifer Lopez Says There Are 'No Coincidences' After Divorce From Ben Affleck

Divorce is difficult for anyone, but for Bennifer, this was the second try. Back in 2002, the pair were engaged, but broke things off and went their separate ways until they made their way back to each other in 2021. Unfortunately, this time around met the same end, but JLo seems to be holding up just fine. "I think the way I overcome things is not by thinking of them as happening to me but happening for me and what is the lesson that needs to be learned in the moment," she told British Vogue.

"When I think of things that way and stay in … more positive mindset about it, it’s easier to kind of embrace it for the lesson that it is," she continued. "Because that’s really what our hardships are in life. What am I supposed to learn here? There are no coincidences. This is not happening, you know, just randomly. It’s happening for a reason. What can I learn and how can I come out the other side better, stronger, more knowledgeable and kind of evolve and grow from this point?"

Jennifer Lopez Doesn't Regret Second Time Around With Ben Affleck

One would think she might've learned the lesson that Ben Affleck isn't the man for her after they broke things off the first time, but despite this, Lopez insists she has no regrets trying things again with the actor. "That doesn’t mean it didn’t almost take me out for good," she said to Interview magainze. "It almost did. But now, on the other side of it, I think to myself, "F***, that is exactly what I needed."

"Thank you, god," she continued. "I’m sorry it took me so long. I’m sorry that you had to do this to me so many times. I should have learned it two or three times ago. I get it. You had to hit me really hard over the head with a f***ing sledgehammer. You dropped the house on me. Don’t have to do it again."
