Well, it is *not* 2002 and Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are indeed an engaged couple once again, and doing better than ever! Just days after their recent engagement news delighted the world, Lopez, 52, shared details of Affleck’s second proposal to her with fans in her newsletter, ‘On the JLo.’ The singer shared a look at her new ring in a video that accompanied her official announcement and naturally amassed millions of likes and comments of well wishes from fans on the clips posted to her Instagram.

“Saturday night while at my favorite place on earth (in the bubble bath), my beautiful love got on one knee and proposed,” Lopez wrote last week, as reported by Page Six. She added,“[I] just looked in his eyes smiling and crying at the same time trying hard to get my head around the fact that after 20 years this was happening all over again.” The Marry Me star continued, “I was quite literally speechless and he said, ‘Is that a yes?’ I said ‘YES of course that’s a YES.’”
Lopez and Affleck, 49, first met in 2002 on the set of Gigli, began dating and got engaged later that same year. The couple initially planned for a wedding in 2004 that was postponed—and eventually called off—as they split for good months later. Lopez married Marc Anthony soon after and Affleck married Jennifer Garner a year later. After very public divorces from their respective spouses, Lopez and Affleck dated other people before finding their way back to each other in April 2021.

Now, Lopez is sharing her joy with fans after rekindling her romance with the Justice League star. “I was smiling so big and tears were coming down my face, feeling so incredibly happy and whole,” she wrote. “It was nothing fancy at all, but it was the most romantic thing I could’ve ever imagined.” She added that the evening was “just a quiet Saturday night at home,” with “two people promising to always be there for each other. Two very lucky people. Who got a second chance at true love.”
