Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are trying to do a good job of making each other (and the media!) think they are happily moving on with their lives following their divorce. And the 55-year-old “On the Floor” singer covering up the tattoo that was dedicated to the 52-year-old Gone Girl actor is one of her latest moves!
The JLo Beauty mogul had a commitment tattoo on her left rib cage when she and the Batman v Superman actor were together (he also had a similar one dedicated to her, FYI!) but it was nowhere to be found when she attended the Unstoppable premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on Friday, September 6th.
Jennifer Lopez's Commitment Tattoo Is Nowhere To Be Seen On The Red Carpet
The tattoo was an infinity sign with the names 'Jennifer' and 'Ben' on both sides, with an arrow through the middle. The Shotgun Wedding actress first shared it with her fans on Instagram in February 2023, as she and Affleck celebrated their first Valentine's Day as a married couple.
The tattoo would have been visible through the "Love Don't Cost a Thing" singer's controversial mirrored Tamara Ralph gown that she wore to the Unstoppable premiere, as the dress was open at the sides and was simply held together with black bows.
We believe that the Delola founder purposely chose to wear such a racy, skin-exposing gown so that everyone (Affleck included!) could see that she had covered up the commitment tattoo, most probably with makeup. Petty or brilliant? As expected, social media had many thoughts!
Social Media Reactions
There were mixed reactions on social media, with one person thinking "she should've never had the tattoo" in the first place, and another saying covering it up was "queen behavior."
"And that is why I'd NEVER have a tattoo done and very especially for a boyfriend or anybody else!" exclaimed one person on Instagram, alongside several eye rolling emojis. "I'd remove/hide the tattoo too," wrote another supportive IG user, as someone else said: "Got to hide your wrong mistakes." "Never tattoo a partner's name on your body unless it's a parent or child's name… It's the kiss of death," advised another.
"Looks like Jennifer Lopez is moving on and making a fresh start! Covering up that tattoo is a powerful statement. Sometimes, the best way to move forward is to embrace change," wrote one fan on X, formerly Twitter, as another said: "She has no time for forgettable losers like him." "Sis is moving fast past him I'm here for it," raved another fan.
