Jennifer Lopez is reportedly “devastated” that her marriage to Ben Affleck ended in divorce just two years after tying the knot.
The 55-year-old “I’m Real” hitmaker filed to divorce the 52-year-old Gone Girl actor at the Los Angeles County Superior Court on Tuesday, August 20th, which also happened to be the two-year anniversary of their Georgia wedding ceremony. According to the court docs, she reportedly listed the date of separation as April 26th this year.
And if we are to believe the latest reports, her close friends now believe that the Hustlers actress needs to stay single for the time being, and take some much-needed time for herself as opposed to moving on with someone else straight away.
Jennifer Lopez's Friends Reportedly Want Her To Take Some Time For Herself Following Ben Affleck Divorce
An insider reportedly told the Daily Mail that the JLo Beauty founder needs to "look inside herself" amid her divorce from the Batman v Superman actor, which will mark her fourth failed marriage.
If you'll recall, she was married to Ojani Noa between 1997 and 1998, Cris Judd between 2001 and 2003, and Marc Anthony (who is also the father of her 16-year-old twins, Max and Emme) between 2004 and 2014.
"After four failed marriages, her friends feel that she should look inside and focus on herself instead of what others want her to be and finally figure out who she is and what she wants from her future," the insider said.
The insider went on to say that the Marry Me actress's timing was no coincidence, as she waited for their second anniversary to officially file for divorce to have the upper hand.
"Jennifer said she was tired of being humiliated by Ben and she waited until the two-year anniversary because she wanted to sting," the source continued, adding: "But it did not sting him. He's been done for a long time and deep down she knows this. He let her have this so that she wouldn't look like the villain."
This coincides with what another insider told Fox News Digital earlier this month, as they explained that the Deep Water actor "threw in the towel a long time ago."
