Last Friday, both JLo and Jane were attending a pre-Oscar party hosted by CAA when they posted for a photo together: Jane, where a sleek black outfit, standing slightly behind Jennifer, who donned a gold metallic Tom Ford dress. Since the two starred in Monster-in-Law, the 2000s rom-com in which Jane Fonda played JLo's disapproving mother-in-law, it looks like they kept in touch!
It also seems like Fonda held on to that mother-in-law role, and over the years has expressed her opinion on Lopez's love life. After getting back together with Ben Affleck, for instance, she wasn't afraid to speak her mind.

In The Greatest Love Story Never Told, a documentary JLo produced about her life over the last 20 years, she features a conversation she had with Jane. "I want you to know that—I don't entirely know why—but I feel invested in you and Ben and I really, really want this to work," Jane says to Jennifer over the phone.
"However, this is my concern," Jane continued. "Like, it feels too much like you're trying to prove something instead of just living it. You know, every other photograph is the two of you kissing and the two of you hugging." To that, all Jen had to say was, "That's just us living our life." And again, we all know how that ended up...She should've listened to Jane!
