Jennifer Lopez Announced In 'The Last Mrs. Parrish'
The book, which was a Reese Witherspoon book club pick, follows the story of a woman named Amber Patterson, who gets herself hired by a wealthy couple, Daphne and Jackson, as their nanny and confidant, weaving herself into their lives in a long-con plot to undermine them.
The film will be produced by Lopez herself, along with Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Benny Medina through Lopez's production company, Nuyorican Productions, and directed by Robert Zemeckis, who also directed Back to the Future and Forrest Gump, among others.

Social Media Reaction
Many fans seem to think that Lopez only got the leading role because she's on the production team, and are wishing that the spot went to someone a bit...younger. At 55, Lopez is older than both female main characters. "Was no one else available?" one person wrote in an Instagram comment.
"Ummm as which character? another asked. "I'm confused."
"Wrong casting!" a third person commented. "About to ruin a good book!"
"Retire already!" another person said.
"Why does Lopez think she can play the part of a young nanny or a young mom. Get a role your own age!" a final fan posted.
