Jennifer Lopez, renowned for her timeless beauty and fashion sense, has consistently been commended for her radiant complexion and enviable physique at the age of 54. However, following her appearance at the Schiaparelli spring/summer haute couture show in Paris last week, the internet has been buzzing with mixed reviews of her new photos, which seemed to display her skin’s natural texture.

Some of the “On the Floor” singer’s followers, as seen on TikTok and X (formerly Twitter), appreciated seeing her unretouched skin texture that showed natural signs of aging, such as wrinkles and fine lines, which added to her beauty and glow. Others were “taken aback” by the absence of filters in the images.

After new photos of Lopez at the event emerged on social media, some fans were "shocked" to see signs of aging on the notoriously "ageless" multi-hyphenate.

Regarding Lopez's usual posts and how these pics might differ, one fan wrote on TikTok: "JLo ALWAYS has a softening filter on. What you’re seeing is the true aging process and she still looks beautiful." Another replied beneath a reaction video to the new shots: "that's what she really looks like." Someone else chimed in: "Honestly… she has been using filters and photos and usually gets retouched."

Other fans, however, stressed that seeing Lopez's "real texture" could help "normalize aging" and show how "beautiful" the process of getting older really can be.

"It's called aging," one wrote as another replied: "J Lo is aging and hopefully we are all blessed enough to age too." Someone else chimed in: "She’s over 50..she looks amazing" as one other concurred: "Exactly! Let’s normalize unfiltered videos and pics!!"

At the Schiaparelli show, Lopez's standout jacket featured a silver sequined sun embroidered on the back, adding an extra touch of shiny glamor to the overall get-up. The "If You Had My Love" hitmaker deviated from her typical long hairstyle and wore her caramel-colored tresses in a slicked-back look.

Lopez complemented her attire with a cream-and-gold belt featuring a lock-and-key design, as well as black velvet pumps showcasing the iconic keyhole detail of the Schiaparelli fashion brand. The Marry Me star carried a black anatomical jewelry bag from the Italian luxury label, and added an extra touch of drama with a pair of gold sunglasses featuring antennae-shaped frames.

The Hustlers alum also added her go-to jewelry piece — shimmering gold hoop earrings. Lopez's stylist Mariel Haenn shared up-close and behind-the-scenes footage of the mom of two's ensemble for the January 22nd runway show. In an Instagram post, Haenn revealed that Lopez's jacket was made with 7,000 rose petals.
