Elle Magazine just chose Jennifer Lopez as one of its 2023 Women in Hollywood and as a result, JLo fans have been treated to 7 different editorial shots of the actress in different designer gowns. That, and an in-depth story about Lopez’s influence on the film industry as a Latin American woman. Our favorite look by far is a red ensemble created by Valentino, which features red patchwork flowers sown together—leaving little to the imagination about what lies underneath.

Jennifer Lopez Is A Vision In Red
The gown we can't stop thinking about, linked here, was designed by Valentino in a rich red color. Each fabric flower has five petals, and each petal is connected to another flower, but leaves a lot of skin exposed. The dress has a plunging neckline and its hem falls to the singer's ankles, hugging her curves from top to bottom.
She wore her hair in a slicked back bun and her makeup was done in a rosy shade: a glossy dark red lip and flushed cheeks, plus her signature smokey eye. JLo wears no jewelry for this look, letting the dress—and her flawless body—do all the talking.
The flawless body in question is even more impressive when you remember that Lopez is 54 years old. However, even at this age, JLo sees no end to her time in Hollywood. "I see myself working [as long as] I want to," she told her interviewer. "I don't know what that age is. It might be 70, it might be 80, it might be 90, I don't know."
"But," she continued, "I know that it's there for me if I want it and I want to create it. That has always been the mindset that I've had: to never let anybody put me in a box because of where I was born, where I'm from, what age I am, anything like that. Those boundaries don't exist for me."
JLo Poses In A Near-Completely Sheer Gown
The next look we're obsessed with from JLo's Elle cover shoot is a sheer number from Mugler, linked here. The dress has a square neckline, however the black paneling of the dress creates the illusion of a plunging v-neck neckline. The black paneling continues down to the star's midsection and tucks in at the waist before expanding out at her hips, accentuating her tiny waist.
The gown also has a dramatic hemline that cuts off at about mid-thigh, but falls in two ribbons on each side. She paired the dress with pumps from Piferi and again stayed away from the jewelry and kept her makeup to blush, a matte lip, and again, a stunning smokey eye.
The actress's femininity is definitely highlighted in this gown, a topic that JLo touches on in her interview. When asked about the state of women in Hollywood, she explained that "there are still a lotof obstacles in the way."
"It's not everything you would want it to be," she continued, "but at least you can see a diverse cast in a movie where the leads are of different races and genders and things like that. And I think that's encouraging, that we fought for that."
"I like to think that having been able to break into certain things, that I didn't settle, knowing in my heart that I was just another girl and I could tell a story of any woman."
She concluded by talking about the importance of taking ownership. "We can't sit around and wait for people to hand us roles," she says. "A lot of actresses right now, they produce their own movies and develop their own material, and I think that's key as well."
