
Jessica Simpson Hints At Cheating In New Music
Fans are convinced that her new song "Leave," which comes from her highly-anticipated new album Nashville Canyon, Part 1, is about the former NFL player. And there are many allegations of cheating in the lyrics, causing fans to believe that Eric's alleged infidelity was the real reason for their marriage ending.
"What we had was magic, now you made it tragic," Jessica sings, adding: "Giving her what you gave to me." She also sings: "Now the well that you drink from's empty, your weakness made me lonely, unholy matrimony. Did you ever do to her what you did to me?"
She adds: "I want you to leave, I don't even wanna breathe the air you breathe. Oh, I, I'd rather die than let you be inside me with her on your mind."
Eric Johnson Wants To 'Defend Himself'
Speaking to Life & Style, a source close to Eric spoke out on his behalf: "She's taking some really brutal shots," the explained. "She doesn't name him, but everyone is convinced she's singing about Eric. but if she's going to make him the villain in this public war, he may want to defend himself."
The insider continued, adding that "there are always two sides to every story."
While Jessica has yet to address the cheating allegations, she did take to Instagram with this message: "I urge everyone to allow yourselves to be empowered by heartbreak, to never stay quiet with your needs and to always know that love should demand respect." Are these fighting words, Jessica?
