Jessica Simpson has sparked major concern among her fans after she appeared to be “fidgety and nervous” and also slurring her speech in a Flonase advert; the video of which she posted to her Instagram Story on Tuesday, April 20th. In the video, the 41-year-old “Party of One” singer can be seen holding a bottle of the allergy relief nasal spray in one hand, while reading what looks like a script or cue cards to promote the product.
“Hey, guys. Climate change is impossible to ignore, especially for my friends in LA — we know,” Jessica begins in the video. “So many of us were affected by the wildfires a few years back, and now rising temperatures are always in the back of our minds. What many people don’t realize is some of the other effects of rising temperatures affecting us right now, like the increased pollen count and the longer, harsher allergy seasons. Pollen count and climate change are both invisible monsters we are all fighting.” She then went on to say she was fighting her allergies with Flonase; but it wasn’t what Jessica was saying that her fans were focused on, but rather, how she was saying it.
While Jessica didn’t fluff any of her lines and looked great in the video, wearing a white tank top with an oversized pinstripe shirt on top, teamed with some cute denim cut-off shorts, and styling her hair in voluminous beach waves, something appeared to be off with her behavior, which didn’t go unnoticed among her fans…
Fans didn’t waste any time in discussing Jessica’s behavior in the comments section of her accompanying Instagram post, which she posted on her grid on April 19th with the caption: “Has anyone else’s allergies been awful this week!? I know I can’t be the only one feeling like my symptoms are only getting worse each year! Well guess what, it’s true! A new @Flonase survey revealed that consumers are feeling the effects of rising temperatures and increased pollen count in worsening symptoms year over year. Talking about Jessica’s inability to focus her eyes on the camera (which were seemingly going to and from her cue cards) one IG user said, “Lmao Flonase please hire a professional. That was embarrassing to watch,” while another added, “I have never seen a more cringe worthy ad in her stories,” followed by embarrassed and mouth zipped emojis. “Home girl needs to practice learning lines and looking at the camera,” they continued. “Really that’s the worst add / commercial by you. With ur eyes all over the place. You couldn’t memorize the cue cards for a simple add?” another user asked. “You need to perfect your advertising skills,” another added, followed by three crying laughing emojis.
“Omg her commercial was awful she slurs her words and she’s Soo reading cue cards omg something is up with her. It was so odd,” noted another. Someone else said, “If you didnt had to read it from a piece of paper I would have believed you,” followed by a crying laughing emoji. “The photo looks ok. The stories are… questionable. Eyes everywhere. Fidgety movements,” one of her followers noted. Another fan said the commercial was, “Painful to watch sadly and I love her,” which another fan echoed, writing, “Hope she’s okay,” followed by a broken heart emoji. “Hope you are ok, you seem to be on something, definitely odd behavior,” added another concerned fan.
