Jessica Simpson and husband Eric Johnson had quite a long marriage by celebrity standards, but ultimately went their separate ways ten years after tying the knot.

Fans still aren’t a hundred percent sure why the couple – who share children Maxwell, Ace, and Birdie – split, although some people thought that the Dukes of Hazzard alum’s weight loss transformation put a strain on the relationship. However, her new single “Leave” has caused fans to think there may have been another reason…

Jessica Simpson Sings About 'Unholy Matrimony' In New Song 'Leave'

The Open Book author's fans are convinced that her new song "Leave," which comes from her highly-anticipated new album Nashville Canyon, Part 1, is about the former NFL player. And there are many allegations of cheating in the lyrics, causing fans to believe that Eric's alleged infidelity was the real reason for their marriage ending.

"What we had was magic, now you made it tragic," Jessica sings, adding: "Giving her what you gave to me." She also sings: "Now the well that you drink from's empty, your weakness made me lonely, unholy matrimony. Did you ever do to her what you did to me?"

She adds: "I want you to leave, I don't even wanna breathe the air you breathe. Oh, I, I'd rather die than let you be inside me with her on your mind." Omg!

Fan Reactions

The Jessica Simpson Collection mogul's fans flooded social media with praise for the song, while also commending her for being so open with the lyrics.

"I was married for 28yrs. My ex cheated too. It happens to the best of us. Stay strong & you shine bright," wrote one fan in the YouTube comments of her video. "I haven't been cheated on but this song is so good! I feel the pain and the alchemy through this," praised a second.

"I love how women take their heartbreak and turn it into something amazing, this song is amazing!" exclaimed a third, as a fourth added: "This song is so good and I love it! I feel the emotion and the heartbreak." "If this is what comes from her divorce, then I'm all for it! Good job, Jessica," wrote a fifth fan.
