Jessica Simpson has been quite open with her fans regarding her split from Eric Johnson, who she has been married to for ten years, and with whom she shares children Maxwell, 12, Ace, 11 and Birdie, 5.
Fans have been hoping that she will get candid about the split in her highly-anticipated new album Nashville Canyon, Part 1, which drops on March 21st, but she has also been quite candid about the end of their marriage in a new interview with People too. Keep reading to find out what she said…

Jessica Simpson Talks About Life After Eric Johnson Split
In the interview which was published on Wednesday, February 19th, the Dukes of Hazzard alum, 44, suggested that she has "grown up" a lot recently, and can "handle" everything life throws at her. Including, it seems, the split.
In the candid interview, the mom-of-three also confirmed that although she and the 45-year-old former NFL star will be divorcing, they are determined to co-parent their three children amicably, and intend to be in each other's lives forever.

"I've grown up so much. I can handle so much," the Open Book author told the mag. "Maybe I'm just meant to love a lot of people in my life."
She added: "I don't know why my heart gets tossed around but I'm one of the lucky ones. At least I have my children and I still have Eric."
Regarding her ex, she went on to say: "He's still very much a part of my life and will always be."

Jessica Simpson Says Working On Her New Music Helped Her Get Through The Split
The "I Wanna Love You Forever" singer also told the mag about how working on her new album really helped her get through her marriage ending, especially because she was able to work on it on her own, unlike some of her previous albums.
"Discovering this music is something I did on my own. Thank God I had Nashville, it was just a way of me owning myself and declaring it," she confessed, in reference to her new album, which will be her first album in 15 years.
She went on to say: "I am a woman now and I can do what I want and to have freedom in music — I think that's what you're going to feel in Nashville Canyon." We can't wait to hear what she has been working on!
