Joe Biden Won't Face Criminal Charges

Joe Biden was recently under investigation for mishandling classified documents, but will not be facing any criminal charges, according to Robert Hur, the special counsel that investigated him.

Hur stated that "no criminal charges are warranted," and that he "would reach the same conclusion even if Department of Justice policy did not foreclose criminal charges against a sitting president."

He continued, saying that the jury would simply see the president as a "well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory." Despite this being a startling description of the man who has access to nuclear codes, we're happy for Joe Biden to not be facing criminal charges.

Jimmy Fallon Pokes Fun At Joe Biden

Jimmy Fallon saw the humor in the situation, and made it the theme of his monologue from last Thursday's episode of The Tonight Show. After reciting Hur's description of Biden—a well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory—he paused and said, "I'm serious," drawing lots of laughs from the audience.

He continued, cheekily offering a silver lining to the situation. "It's pretty embarrassing for Biden," he said, "but on the bright side, he'll forget about it five minutes later." The audience got quite a kick out of that one—because that's all you can do in a situation like this, right?
