President Joe Biden‘s popularity has taken a dip lately when it comes to poll numbers, and it appears that his struggle to resonate with younger voters is a significant contributing factor. In response, Jimmy Fallon made a lighthearted quip that Biden, 81, may have attempted to connect with this demographic in a unique way by renaming his pacemaker.

Fallon, 49, kicked off his December 18th Tonight Show episode with a monologue that took aim at both Donald Trump and Rudy Giuliani. However, the late night host and Saturday Night Live alum focused the majority of his jokes around Biden’s campaign and lack of support from Gen Z voters.

Jimmy Fallon Cracks Jokes About President Biden's Pacemaker And Gen Z Voters

"Right now, young voters seem to be the biggest problem for Biden’s campaign, which is tough, because compared to him, everyone is a young voter," Fallon joked, taking into account that Biden is the oldest sitting president. The comedian went on, adding that Biden is "doing his best" to appeal to younger voters for the upcoming 2024 presidential election.

"Today he renamed his pacemaker TikTok," Fallon added. Before continuing on for a punchline centered around Biden and Barack Obama, Fallon deemed his pacemaker/ TikTok joke to be "great" and pantomimed shadow boxing and hitting a home run in baseball.

On December 21st, Fallon also toyed with the lexicon of Gen Z as he commented on a recent survey that indicated a greater inclination among young voters towards Biden as opposed to Trump, 77.

"Young voters are basically like we’d rather have President Mid than President Sus," Fallon joked during last week's segment, adding: "No cap."

According to this recent poll conducted by Economist/ YouGov, which targeted registered voters under the age of 30, respondents were asked about their support for Democratic President Joe Biden or Republican hopeful Donald Trump during the 2024 election.

From December 16th to 18th, as reported by The Wrap, web-based interviews were conducted and more than half of those surveyed (53%) said they would support Biden, while less than a quarter (24%) said they would support Trump. The poll also revealed that 10% of those polled favored another candidate, 4% were uncertain about their preferred candidate, and 9% said they have no plans to vote.

Here's to hoping that Fallon keeps up the Gen Z lingo in his next monologue!
