Did Joe Alwyn Cheat On Taylor Swift? Here’s Why Some Fans On TikTok Think So

Reports of Taylor Swift and her longtime boyfriend Joe Alwyn splitting up have been met with shock and sadness by Swifties all over the world. Now, some TikTokers are convinced that the Conversations with Friends actor, 32, may have cheated on the 33-year-old “Anti-Hero” singer— but what evidence really is there?

News of the couple (who were together for six years) breaking up have caused shockwaves amongst fans, who are now debating whether infidelity played a role in their split. This comes after Alwyn’s Brutalist co-star Emma Laird, 24, (and rumored fling) posted a photo of him on the set of their upcoming movie, which is currently filming in Hungary.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Swift and Alwyn ended their relationship “amicably,” and a source close to the “Bejeweled” hitmaker and Favourite actor told People that they simply “weren’t the right fit for one another,” as Alwyn apparently couldn’t handle the pop superstar’s fame. In her April 19th photo collection post for her 64.2K followers, Laird included one shot of Alwyn smiling and riding an electric scooter (yes, that’s all it took to send many Swift fans into a frenzy).

Laird captioned her carousel (which also had pics of her other friends and co-stars from the Brady Corbet-directed flick), “Moments in March,” with a red heart and film camera emoji. She tagged Alwyn in the one pic of him and ended up turning her post’s comments off after many fans began asking her if she had an affair with Alwyn and other similar messages in her comment section.

vSoon after, adding more fuel to the fire, a blind item was sent in to Crazy Days and Nights, a celeb blind item blog that claimed that Alwyn cheated on Swift. “The A+ list singer did some striking back of her own by throwing the foreign-born actor under the bus about his lack of career. Will she go really deep and talk about the cheating or save it for new music?” it said. Swifties then took to TikTok, Twitter, Instagram and elsewhere to share their surprise regarding the unconfirmed news.

Some fans began uploading videos on TikTok showing Laird’s photo of Alwyn and sharing theories as to why they think he might have cheated on Swift. The post from Laird, many stressed, was enough evidence of an affair. “I don’t think she deserves all the hate but pls she knows what she’s doing,” one fan wrote on TikTok about Laird uploading the photo. They added, “This is her verified account, she likes things on purpose.”

This came after Laird allegedly was seen liking social media posts about Alwyn and Swift’s breakup, as Harper’s Bazaar notes.  “WAIT this the same girl that’s been liking posts abt their breakup oh i’ve got everybody’s tea,” one fan tweeted about Laird this week as another added “these cheating rumors better not be true.” Other users expressed that Laird and Alwyn are “just friends” and “linked professionally,” stressing that there isn’t any “real evidence” of cheating.
