Chrissy Teigen has been in hot water over the last several weeks after a slew of cyberbullying allegations were levelled against the former model, and while the 35-year-old mother-of-two has issued a formal apology to those who have been at the receiving end of her harsh words, the damage seems to have been done in the court of public opinion. However, one person who has continued to stand beside Teigen throughout the duration of the controversy is her husband, John Legend. The 42-year-old musician recently gave an update on his wife amidst the worsening situation, and it seems that the couple are taking things in stride.

Last week, Legend was on his way to his car when he was stopped by the paparazzi who asked how he and Teigen were doing. The photographer prodded, “How is Chrissy doing after all of the criticism?" To which Legend replied, “She's doing great. Take care,” he added, “Have a good one."

Teigen also has been vocal about the controversy, handling things publicly with an open letter she published on Medium last week, expressing regret over her past actions. She began by writing, “Hi all. It has been a VERY humbling few weeks. I know I've been quiet, and lord knows you don't want to hear about me, but I want you to know I've been sitting in a hole of deserved global punishment, the ultimate ‘sit here and think about what you've done.' Not a day, not a single moment has passed where I haven't felt the crushing weight of regret for the things I've said in the past."

Teigen continued, “There is simply no excuse for my past horrible tweets. My targets didn't deserve them. No one does. Many of them needed empathy, kindness, understanding and support, not my meanness masquerading as a kind of casual, edgy humor. I was a troll, full stop. And I am so sorry." Legend later went on to quote a segment of his wife’s letter where she requested the space to, “seek self-improvement and change,” tweeting, “We are all more than our worst moments,” with several heart emojis.

Teigen has come under fire for recently resurfaced tweets that the 35-year-old made years ago, aimed at then 19-year-old Courtney Stodden of the cyberbullying nature, and designer Michael Costello also levelled his own allegations against the model. However, Teigen has since rebuffed Costello’s statement, denying his claims of cyberbullying at her hands. While the saga is likely far from over, Teigen seems to have the continued support of her husband in a show of unconditional love.
