Earlier this week, news broke that John Mulaney and Olivia Munn had finally welcomed their baby into the world, and the comedian’s ex, Anna Marie Tendler, had some sly commentary for the event. While the pair married in 2014 and parted ways in 2020 following Mulaney’s struggles with substance abuse, Tendler evidently still holds some (reasonable) hard feelings towards her ex following the birth of his child, after the 39-year-old publicly revealed he never planned to have kids while married to Tendler.

Over the weekend Tendler took to Instagram, posting an artistic photo of herself seated at a bench looking into a mirror with the caption simply stating, “Norman F******g Rockwell.” The comment was evidently a reference to the Lana Del Rey song of the same name, in which the singer croons about a “goddamn man child.”
The premise of the song is about a man who makes Del Rey “blue” as she sings, “You’re fun and you’re wild / But you don’t know the half of the shit that you put me through.” Tendler clearly related the lyrics back to her comedian ex who has made shady comments over the past several months praising his new relationship and impending birth of his child as things that had “saved” him from addiction.

However, rumors have also been swirling that Mulaney and Munn have already called it quits after not even a full year together, and will now co-parent their child without maintaining the romantic relationship they once had.
Mulaney has been vocal in the past about not wanting children while married to Tendler, saying, “They’re great, but I love what I do. And I love my wife and spending so much time with her and we have a really fortunate life. I get to travel, do stand-up, and our relationship is so wonderful. It’s just something I wouldn’t want to change.” It’s unclear if Tendler ever hoped to have children with Mulaney, but that door appears to be firmly shut from both sides now.
