Jonah Hill Credits Cutting Beer And Eating Japanese Food For His 50-Lb Weight Loss Transformation: ‘It Was Mostly Diet’

Jonah Hill is another A-lister who has wowed fans with his weight loss transformation. His weight has visibly fluctuated over the years, but he is looking better than ever these days!

The actor, who first rose to fame in the iconic movie, Superbad, reportedly weighed 252 lbs. at his heaviest, and has since lost an epic 50 lbs. since then thanks to the help of a nutritionist as well as a personal trainer. Keep reading to find out more…

How Did Jonah Hill Lose 50 Lbs.?

The 40-year-old actor doesn't appear to have gone down the weight loss injections route favored by so many A-listers at the moment, and previously told ABC News that his trimmer frame was down to "mostly diet."

"I wish there was some crazy thing that I did, like a pill or a genie or something, but I went to see a nutritionist, and he told me what to eat to change my habits and stuff," the 22 Jump Street actor confessed at the time.

As well as seeking out the help of a nutritionist and personal trainer, the Get Him to the Greek actor also said that his War Dogs co-star Channing Tatum really helped him on his weight loss journey too.

"I called Channing Tatum and said, 'Hey, if I ate less and go to a trainer, will I get in better shape?'" he previously said on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. "And he said, 'Yes, you dumb [expletive], of course you will. It's the simplest thing in the entire world,'" he added.

What Did Jonah Hill Eat And Cut Out To Slim Down?

The War Dogs actor went on to talk about some of the things he ate when he decided to slim down, such as sushi, as well as some of the things he had to cut out, which included junk foods such as pizza and beer.

According to reports, his nutritionist advised eating fresh fruits, leafy greens, whole grains, sushi, lean animal protein and low-fat dairy products. As for what to avoid, some of the things include processed and refined food, sugar, pizza, and of course, beer.

"I found that Japanese food was very helpful to me," Hill said, before explaining that he has since found out how crucial cutting out beer is in his weight loss journey.

Although his weight has fluctuated over the years, he seems to know that cutting out beer will give him a great head start in losing weight! "It's so annoying because if I don't drink beer, I get really really thin. Then when I drink beer, I get a little bigger."

What Exercises Did Jonah Hill Do To Lose Weight?

As well as running, Hill does a combination of different exercises throughout the week. He previously explained how a friend of his suggested that he build his way up to 100 push-ups a day, which he eventually achieved after starting off with just 10 a day. He now reportedly maintains his 100 push-ups a day habit, in addition to a few other exercises.

He also does Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu 4-5 times a week, as well as boxing, the latter of which he regularly documents on his social media, and resistance training.
