A temporary detox juice cleanse is said to have numerous benefits that can include radiant skin, a boost in energy, and (thanks to a break from foods that contain dairy or gluten) relief from inflammation. It's important to remember that these juice cleanses aren't for everyone and, depending on your caloric intake and health needs, could prove the opposite of what you need — to be safe, always check with a nutritionist or registered dietitian if you're on the fence.
With that said, there's one juice cleanse that has managed to capture headlines in recent years, thanks to the best spokesperson imaginable: Beyoncé.

Lemon Juice Cleanse
In the HBO documentary Life Is But a Dream, Beyoncé is shown squeezing lemons into a glass, throwing in a few more ingredients, and downing the mixture to help whip her body into shape for her role in Dreamgirls (of course, she also benefits from a healthy diet, trainers, and supervision from a medical team). The detox juice is cheap and easy to make: it contains a mixture of fresh lemons or limes, cayenne pepper, and maple syrup. Sounds pretty simple, doesn't it?
Lemon Juice Master Cleanse
The lemon juice "master cleanse," as it's been dubbed, works by flushing out toxins from your body, as well as excess water weight. You're advised to drink the lemon brew six to 12 times a day and to strictly adhere to a no-solid-foods policy, which obviously greatly contributes to drastic temporary weight loss.
But the key word here is "temporary." Like all juice cleanses, this one can deliver major and fast weight loss and flat ab results, but when you eventually begin reincorporating solid foods into your diet, that type of weight loss isn't sustainable.
There are myriad pros and cons to any juice cleanse, including this uber popular one — talk to medical professionals and do your research to find out if you can benefit from one.
