Legal documents obtained by The Blast show that the Dancing With The Stars pro filed for dissolution of marriage in the Los Angeles County Courts on Monday, November 2.
Although Julianne and Brooks have kept pretty quiet on the matter, letting their May announcement do the talking for them, some insiders have spoken out about the reasons behind their split.
A source told People, "They were trying to work on things but Julianne realized she’s happier having her freedom. Brooks tried to give it to her but he also hit his limit."
A source also spoke to Us Weekly, admitting that the pair "argued a lot."
The insider added, "[They] just had different viewpoints on important issues. [They were] trying to find themselves separate from one another and deal with any issues they’ve faced that were exasperated while married."
Neither has commented on the rumors about their split, but Hough did seem to reference their separation on a recent Instagram post--and it definitely wasn't flattering for her ex.
After participating in a KINRGY workout class, the actress took to Instagram to express her gratitude, but it seemed like she was referencing more than just her workout. She wrote, "Thanks for celebrating gratitude, hope and LOVE with me today! This is just the beginning. 2021 is definitely looking up."
Many fans were quick to question her comment on things "looking up" just a few weeks after filing for divorce.
Brooks has also made some comments on Instagram worthy of speculation.
A little over a week after Julianne filed for divorce, her ex posted a lengthy Instagram caption about feeling thankful, and one part in particular stuck out. He wrote, "I’m grateful for wonderful friends and family who continually make me feel welcomed, supported, and loved. I’m grateful for the ways they bring out the best in me, and their willingness to continue on the journey of life together."
Considering Hough is no longer willing "to continue on the journey of life together," this post might have more to do with his soon-to-be ex-wife than just general gratitude.
