Julianne Moore‘s timeless beauty is widely acknowledged, as the 62-year-old Still Alice actress never fails to captivate audiences when she graces the red carpet.

However, following her latest appearance at the 2023 Gotham Awards, where she donned a floor-length black maxi dress with a relaxed silhouette, certain fans on Instagram have expressed discontent with her stylist and expressed concern for Moore’s apparent lack of pizzazz and cheerfulness during the event.

Popular Instagram account @checkthetag (a page that often shares celebrity outfits and boasts 150K followers) uploaded new pics of Moore in the outfit, and some fans commented, wishing she wore a less “boring” and “sad” outfit.

Julianne Moore Graces 2023 Gotham Awards In Black Gown That Fans Deem 'Shapeless' & 'Boring'

While we think Moore's long-sleeved, full-length black gown from Saint Laurent is chic and elegant, fans on social media seemed disappointment with her red carpet look. "Boring n sad looking thats what i would wear if i wanna hide or not get attention," one wrote under the IG post.

Another added: "So boring" as someone else commented, regarding her previous fashionable red carpet get-ups in recent months: "I yearn for the days I was excited for Julianne on the red carpet."

On X (formerly Twitter), however, many fans praised her hair and makeup at the event. "Aging beautifully," one wrote as another tweeted: "She is looking soo gorgeous."

To complete her look for the Gotham Awards (which, according to its website celebrates "visionary talent in front of and behind the camera"), the May December star and style icon added shimmering dangly statement earrings and shiny gold bracelets and rings.

As for her glam, Moore rocked bold, black cat-eye liner, smokey eyeshadow, rosy blush on her high cheekbones and a trendy mauve lipstick hue.
